About Us

Bowling Green State University Club Figure Skating is a club sport at Bowling Green State University located in Bowling Green, Ohio. The club was started in 2011 by alumni member Amanda Jagow as a student campus organization. With no figure skating related groups at BGSU, Amanda took it upon herself to build the club from scratch to allow students to continue or begin their passion for skating during college.

BGSU Club Figure Skating has both an intercollegiate team for competitive skaters, and a recreational club for students to build basic skills and have fun.

Competitive Team

BGSU Club Figure Skating is part of United States Figure Skating Association's intercollegiate skating program, representing the Midwestern region. During the season, BGSU Club Figure Skating team members practice twice a week and compete at three competitions in the Midwestern region. Team members can compete individually in free skate and dance programs, as well as in team maneuvers. We have skaters ranging from the preliminary to senior levels and we currently have a low team for team maneuvers.

Recreational Club

Members of the recreational club gather once a week and practice skating skills, ranging from beginner to senior level. Beginner lessons are held at one end of the rink for those who wish to learn new skills. The rest of the ice is free for practicing or just having fun! Students do not need to have any previous skating experience to join our club.
